For the last several months we’ve been upgrading certain aspects of our website brands in order to bring a better experience to all of our users. In February we launched our new website design. Today we’re announcing the addition of social media sharing options to each author and book page.

We all know the power of social media. Recent surveys have shown that at least 1 out of every 4 clicks online is happening on Facebook alone – just that one website. Amazing!

When we designed our website, we did so specifically with SEO in mind. All of our urls and site structure are setup to be easily read and understood by the different search engine spiders that crawl websites for information.

But just setting up the backbone of a website isn’t enough. Individual pages on a website also receive a ranking boost from links back to those pages.

This is where social sharing comes in. Social sharing provides the links back to the original pages from sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Every time we like or tweet or +1 a site online, a link from Facebook, Twitter and Google+ comes back to the page we shared online, raising that page’s authority.

Not only do pages on a website receive a ranking boost from links to a specific page, but they also receive a small secondary boost as other pages on the site receive a ranking boost.

So, if you are a Primedia eLaunch author, head on over to your author and book pages and start liking and tweeting your pages and others on the site that interest you. If you’re not a Primedia eLaunch author you can still help others out by sharing pages you’re personally interested in as well.

There is an old saying goes – “a rising tide lifts all ships.” This is definitely true in terms of page ranking – so start sharing today!
